Blog system

Now that I've my azure exam out of the way, its back to trying to complete my blog system.

Earlier in the year I moved my blog (both Blogger & LinkedIn) to Red-Folder.com. Its fairly poorly done at the moment with the markdown being deployed as part of the website. For each new blog entry (inlcuding this one) I need to release the entire site.

Hardly ideal.

Back in January I started a project inspired by the Microsoft docs project. To use Github as a blog repository and have a process by which a commit will post blogs up to the website (without a website release). Since then I've been distracted by various over projects - so I'd like to try and get in completed sooner rather than later.

I hope to focus on it. I've got code in place to handle new blogs being added (including TDD & BDD). I've almost finished deletes. Then I will be moving onto updates which maybe the most complex part.

I'd like to have this all running before the end of September.

.Net Summer Hackfest

The .Net Foundation have launched the .Net Summer Hackfest via this Introduction article.

I became aware of it fairly late and missed most of it.

I'd like to try and get involved in the Akka.Net session scheduled to start next week and run for two weeks. I'd really like to get some Akka.Net experience.

That being said, I will probably observe from the sidelines - I could do with no distracting myself from the blog system too much (famous last words).

CV Update

My current contract runs up till end of September. As per previous updates, I will generally do at least a minor refresh of my CV for every contract (even if rfenewal is highly likely).

This time however, I'd like to make a bigger structural change. I've made a draft and hope to have a viable version by the end of the month.

Given that I'm planning a reasonable change in structure, I may push an A/B test out via LinkedIn to garner feedback - especially from recruiters. More on this when I have it.

ROI Articles

I've delayed new ROI articles while I was focused on the Azurfe exam. Given my focus on the Blog System, I may delay releasing any new articles until after my annual leave (early September).

I've three article already party done - so it will be nice to have some articles in the can rather than doing them just-in-time.
