More TeamCity work this week. Using more Kotlin. I'm still in two minds with it - the lack of any real reference seems a massive gap - although I really do like getting the build definition into source control.
I'm generally finding that I'm modeling any "new" build definitions on my local machine via the web GUI - export to Kotlin, then apply the relevant parts to the production definition.
Slowly, I'm getting a good selection of code samples - so maybe it is just a matter of time.
Finally bit the bullet and decided to devote some of my learning time to Powershell.
I'm using my go-to source of Pluralsight. While they have a whole learning path, I'm not sure I feel the need to do the full path.
I'd just like to feel less "clunky" whenever I dip into Powershell. I'll see how I get on.
I've quite fancied trying a standing desk for a while now ... so when a colleague wanted to part with his, it seemed too good an opportunity to pass up.
Ok ... it's not a full desk ... but it seems to work pretty well. Only been using for a few days so difficult to tell yet if it helps with focus.
How do you solve the problem of a communal kitchen with a bunch of developers?
Apply to their sense of good code practices.
While I did get one comment of "its not my job" - that kinda points at the wider problem with not having the right mindset.
Generally though it seems to be working.
